Headlamp restoration

Two cars sent in for headlamp restoration.

This mini's headlamps was in severe condition.

Not just yellow but plenty of fine deep cracks.

Sanding this took a lot of effort as the headlamps were hard. Sanding started all the way from 600 grit, then 800, 1200, 1500, 2000 and finally 2500 grit. A total of 6 steps.

Followed up by cutting with Osren P40 on denim and velvet pads, compounded on wool pad, and finally finished with a polishing pad.

Saved tonnes to get a replacement.

the same treatment was done for the other side. The headlamps was then coated with Opti-Guard (a uv-block coating) to protect against future re-yellowing.

A second car, Toyota Wish...

A similar treatment of sanding and polishing as the mini was given to this car.

Protected by opti guard.

Thank you...
