How to protect your car

Cars are never investments. But they are assets. Just as the engine requires maintenance, the paint and appearance needs to be maintained to prevent premature failure. Neglect will always result in an expensive restoration in later years while an affordable periodic maintenance will ensure a long lasting brand new appearance. Besides being as eye turner, a well maintained paint acts as a barrier against contaminants and rusting and can greatly boost the resale value of a car.

Steps:
1. Weekly wash
2. Monthly or bi-monthly wax
3. Park under a shade as much as possible
4. If parking in car parks, try to avoid risky areas such as outside an entrance or where there is a tight space for people to walk through.
5. Never send your car to car washes because it is cheap; and those that you do not trust.
6. If required, send it to a professional detailer.

*The difference between commercial car washes and professional detailer is that one focuses on making money while another, creating a piece of art.
